Genome Sequencing
Genome Characterization and Gene-Space Sequencing
This project will characterize the spruce genome through sample sequencing and targeted BAC analysis (with international collaborators), as well as gene space sequencing based on new microarray enrichment methods. This project will be linked to a newly approved project at the University of British Columbia (K. Ritland).
A. Shot gun Sample Sequencing of Nuclear Genomic DNA;
B. Targeted BAC sequencing (20 BACs): Integrated analysis with random spruce BACs, and pine BACs. K. Ritland (University of British Columbia), F. Canovas (University of Malaga), D. Peterson (Mississippi State University);
C. Gene-Space sequencing: Analysis of Genomic DNA Enriched for Gene Regions, by microarray or solution hybridization capture.
